Brite-View Air SyncHD (BV-2322) Wireless 1080p HD Video/ Audio Transmission Kit Review

The Brite-View “Air SyncHD” (BV-2322) Wireless 1080p HD Video/ Audio Transmission Kit is a new and intelligent product that has just hit the market some time back and is another one to use Amimon’s WHDI technology along with some tricks of its own. It is an easy solution to a set of common problems faced by people who have multiple TV around the house. But it is still not the perfect wireless HD solution.

The AirSyncHD from Brite-View is not very different from your average wireless HD transmitter-receiver kit. It has the two pieces and the necessary wires that go along with it. It can transmit a full 1080p signal without hiccups and the picture quality turns out great. It has an amazingly long range. Brite-view actually encourages it to be used for multi-room setups because that is the only way to do justice its 100 feet range! Although, that range is only applicable to when you are streaming at 1080i. At 1080p, it is reduced to 66 feet. There’s support for up to 1080p@60hz and also for 1080i @wide. They do mention line-of-sight within the specifications but in practical use it seems to be a non-issue, especially with users reporting that they use it outside their house and in another room.

But the thing to love about it are the extra features. Other than the long range, I also like the fact that it is a loop-through connection where it can simultaneously transmit wirelessly and through wires. This way, you can keep your main TV connected to your cable box through the transmitter and you can use the receiver for a TV in another room. Also, their IR remotes make it easy to run the whole show, well, remotely.

One complaint I have against Brite-View BV-2322AirSyncHD is that it does not have multiple HDMI inputs. One way around that is to have a smart HDMI switcher. But it is still an annoyance and an extra cost. But over all, the $220 price tag seems to be worth it for those who are in need of a good multi-TV set up in the house.
