Component Maker Anadigics Makes New Amplifier For WHDI
Anadigics is a company based in Warren, NJ, USA and is known mainly for making broadband communications components that are used broadly all over country. They have recently been running into losses but they posted marked improvements last quarter and this has resulted into them beginning this quarter in a great new way. They have recently launched a new and improved wireless signal amplifier that will improve, amongst other things, the signal quality of a WHDI broadcast signal.
As the WHDI standard has freshly been agreed upon, this comes as a welcome development from a key component maker from the industry. This new 5GHz WLAN amplifier increases both range and throughput of of WiFi and WDHI application signals. This will likely help manufacturers to build stronger WHDI devices that are able to broadcast at a longer range. The practical implications of such a development is quite great.
With stronger signals, it would be much easier to cut out any interference and thus increase signal isolation. It would also mean that the signal can broadcast at a greater range and hence be received without hindrance at greater distances and through obstacles like walls and pillars. Since homes are not designed around the travel of wireless signals (not yet they aren’t at least), it is up to the industry itself to build better amplifiers and other components that enhance the signal strength and increase the flexibility of a set up.
This will enable WHDI to be better equipped when dealing with competition like WirelessHD. Greater flexibility in set up would also mean WHDI being chosen over other options unless the others keep up.
Other than the 5GHz signal amplifier, Anadigics has also unveiled a 3.5Ghz full-band powr amplifier for the WiMax market and the smallest dual-band CDMA power amplifier for the latest mobile phones.
